DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Danny Leach, Dayton
Senior | Safety Downer’s Grove, Illinois Leach may have single-handedly kept Dayton among the ranks of the FCS unbeatens with two interceptions in a 20-15 PFL victory at Morehead State. His first interception came in the Flyers end zone on the fourth quarter’s second play and his 17-yard return helped set up Dayton’s eventual game-winning drive. Then, with the Flyers clutching that lead, Leach intercepted a pass to end Morehead State’s final drive and secure the win. He finished with seven tackles (six solo), including a tackle for loss. That tackle for loss was part of a sequence that bogged down the Eagles opening drive deep in Dayton territory and forced a field goal.
